Lady Gaga will replace Beyoncé at this year’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival taking place this spring. Billboard has confirmed the pop superstar is taking over Queen Bey’s headlining slot after the singer had to pull out due to her doctor’s advice as Beyoncé is pregnant with twins.

Gaga will perform on both weekends, headlining on April 15 and 22 at Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California. Currently festival organizers, Goldenvoice and AEG Live are finalizing plans to bring Gaga’s huge stage production to Coachella 2017, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
The news comes a week after representatives for Beyoncé revealed the entertainer had to withdraw from Coachella 2017. “Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” the statement read. “Due to the change, Beyoncé has been announced as a headliner for Coachella 2018. “However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”
Insiders tell Billboard that it was important that Beyoncé was replaced by another female artist, as Lady Gaga will now become the first woman to headline Coachella since Björk in 2007. Lady Gaga joins Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead as Coachella headliners this year.
UPDATE: Coachella makes the official announcement by posting an updated flyer with Lady Gaga on the bill.
