After a turbulent 12-something months, which saw him wave goodbye to his Def Jam deal and become public enemy number one in New York, it’s clear Trinidad Jame$ is keen to start fresh in 2015. Just days after dropping a five-track EP, the Atlanta rapper has announced plans to release a new free album titled No One Is SaFe on January 20. Serving as the official follow-up to his 2012 debut, the project will include collaborations with iLoveMakonnen, Big K.R.I.T., OG Maco, Peewee Longway, Offset, Problem, Lil Debby and Scotty ATL.
The star-studded guest list aside, it might just be Trinidad Jame$ himself who you should really be listening out for: “Whatchu thought, I was just gonna up and quit?/Cause them record labels and media saying I ain’t shit?/Boy stop, I’m two videos from popping/Black man with limited options,” he boasts in bittersweet fashion on the album’s first single, “BlackMan Pt.2,” produced by Diplo.
