There are tons of unsung heroes in the New York City rap scene. From the early days when it was still park jams and hood parties, rap has come a long way in Big Apple nightlife. Clubs like The Tunnel and Speed are pretty legendary when it comes to rap and nightclubs in NYC. We all know Funkmaster Flex owned the turntables at the infamous nightspot but who helped him get there? And, more importantly who helped champion rap parties amongst the snobbie New York club scene? Her name is Jessica Rosenblum and she’s a certified pioneer of Hip-Hop clubs in this city. I mean, she worked with Puffy when he was still in college for God’s sake.
